Fino Partners with Hortonworks to Boost Data Science Services, Powered by 100-Percent Open Source Apache Hadoop
Fino Named Consulting and Systems Integrator Partner
NEW YORK, April 22, 2014 — Fino Consulting, a leading provider of application design, development and consulting services to Fortune 1000 organizations, today announced it has joined the Hortonworks Systems Integration Partner Program to enhance the firm’s data science offerings. Hortonworks is the leading contributor to and provider of Apache™ Hadoop®.
As a recognized Consulting and Systems Integrator Partner of Hortonworks, Fino can now implement enterprise-level big data solutions including Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), the industry’s only 100-percent open source Hadoop distribution, explicitly architected, built, and tested for enterprise-grade deployments. The new Hortonworks partnership complements Fino’s existing partnership with Microsoft, offering unique value to clients including greater efficiencies for data analytics initiatives. Clients that are already operating Microsoft infrastructures now have a solution that works with table storage and can be read directly into Hadoop or HDP.
“Our new partnership with Hortonworks and our existing partnership with Microsoft will allow Fino to deliver powerful, data-driven products for our clients,” said Scott Ziolko, director of data science at Fino Consulting.
Running 100-percent open source Apache Hadoop at the core of the platform provides a known high-quality HDFS cluster (Hadoop Distributed File System), and by deploying Hortonworks Data Platform on Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Services via HDInsight, Fino can manage computing clusters in the cloud and provide more efficient data management based on client needs.
“We are pleased to partner with Fino Consulting and look forward to working with them to provide data-driven applications powered by Hortonworks Data Platform for our customers,” said John Kreisa, vice president of strategic marketing at Hortonworks. “Fino’s experience consulting and delivering high-value enterprise solutions creates a natural expansion to add Hadoop integration services as companies of all sizes are adopting the open source platform to support their big data projects.”
Using Hortonworks Data Platform, Fino can provide on-premises HDFS solutions when clients require it, and build highly scalable enterprise applications that are designed for the high velocity and high volume needs of modern data products. With HDInsight, existing data can be taken directly out of the active Azure storage technologies, and the results of the analytics and aggregations are placed back on the same network and storage technologies, providing the scale necessary to deliver to millions of connected devices.
“We are proud to partner with Hortonworks and are confident that this partnership will further enable us to meet the big data needs of our clients,” said Brian Fino, founder and CEO of Fino Consulting. “Our clients will be able to achieve even greater value by combining the power of Hortonworks’ platform with Microsoft’s infrastructure and Fino’s extensive data science and big data expertise.”
